    Located in Dubuque, IA, Dubuque Specialty Care is licensed to provide quality care to up to 84 residents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We serve residents from Dubuque County, Iowa, and many surrounding communities.

    We are committed to providing our residents with an active and engaging quality of life through daily programming, social and educational activities, and services that promote physical health, provide mental stimulation, increase engagement and help our residents thrive in a home-like setting.

    Care Initiatives is Iowa’s largest nonprofit provider of high-quality skilled nursing care, hospice care, assisted living, independent living, memory care and more. With 60 locations across the Midwest, Care Initiatives and the team at Dubuque Specialty Care are ready to assist.

    I am incredibly impressed with the cleanliness at Dubuque Specialty Care. Every area, from the resident rooms to the common spaces, is always spotless and well-maintained.

    The facility has a fresh, welcoming atmosphere, and you can tell the staff takes great pride in their roles.

    It's reassuring to know that my loved one is in such a clean and well-cared-for environment.

    The staff at Dubuque Specialty Care is absolutely amazing! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and kindness.

    Everyone is so friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about the residents and their families.

    It’s clear that they go above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and at home.

    It's wonderful to hear that your cousin is making progress at Dubuque Specialty Care.     When we knew our dad needed extra help after an illness there was no other place he was going to go but Care Initatives. Everyone was so caring and attentive. The staff explained every detail of his recovery and how the process was going to go. Staff member Kaylee will always hold a special place in our hearts! And to my dad!

    The activies director Madi is awesome. She plans great activities. Some of my family activities are BINGO, Yahtzee, and social events. Madi works hard to support each resident any way she can by providing them with a listening ear or material to complete different hobbies.

    Nursing staff was very attentive. I especially enjoyed therapy treat. The therapy team taught me enough I can now do my exercises at home. The meal service was great. Residence are given the opportunity to choose their meals.

    Who We Are

    Created in 1989, Care Initiatives is the largest nonprofit operator of quality skilled nursing locations in Iowa. Today, Care Initiatives operates a total of 43 skilled nursing care locations, two assisted living locations, seven independent living locations, and eight hospice office locations.
