    Located in Dubuque, IA, Dubuque Specialty Care is licensed to provide quality care to up to 84 residents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We serve residents from Dubuque County, Iowa, and many surrounding communities.

    We are committed to providing our residents with an active and engaging quality of life through daily programming, social and educational activities, and services that promote physical health, provide mental stimulation, increase engagement and help our residents thrive in a home-like setting.

    Care Initiatives is Iowa’s largest nonprofit provider of high-quality skilled nursing care, hospice care, assisted living, independent living, memory care and more. With 60 locations across the Midwest, Care Initiatives and the team at Dubuque Specialty Care are ready to assist.

    The activies director Madi is awesome. She plans great activities. Some of my family activities are BINGO, Yahtzee, and social events. Madi works hard to support each resident any way she can by providing them with a listening ear or material to complete different hobbies.

    Nursing staff was very attentive. I especially enjoyed therapy treat. The therapy team taught me enough I can now do my exercises at home. The meal service was great. Residence are given the opportunity to choose their meals.

    Dubuque Specialty Care is the place to be if you’re recovering from illness or injury! The staff took great care of my family member during his recovery period. Thank you to the CNAs and Nursing staff! You'll ROCK! Sending my best to you!

    Wonderful welcoming staff with an amazing staff-to-staff and staff-to-resident relationship. After touring the facility, I saw that it was very clean, and well organized with comfortable lounging areas that would make anyone feel at home.

    Toured the building. With this building being a non profit, they care about the residents and getting more staff than anyone around! What they lack in flash, they make up for with a tidy building and dollars spent focused on resident care over profits. If you want the best care around go here!

    Who We Are

    Created in 1989, Care Initiatives is the largest nonprofit operator of quality skilled nursing locations in Iowa. Today, Care Initiatives operates a total of 43 skilled nursing care locations, two assisted living locations, seven independent living locations, and eight hospice office locations.
