    Located in Knoxville, IA, West Ridge Specialty Care is licensed to provide quality care to up to 78 residents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We serve residents from Marion County, Iowa, and many surrounding communities.

    We are committed to providing our residents with an active and engaging quality of life through daily programming, social and educational activities, and services that promote physical health, provide mental stimulation, increase engagement and help our residents thrive in a home-like setting.

    Care Initiatives is Iowa’s largest nonprofit provider of high-quality skilled nursing care, hospice care, assisted living, independent living, memory care and more. With 60 locations across the Midwest, Care Initiatives and the team at West Ridge Specialty Care are ready to assist.

    We transferred my grandmother to Westridge last November for therapy after a hip fracture. They were so attentive and loving through my grandmother’s care. She received skilled therapy until her health declined and she transitioned to hospice care. The nurses, aides, therapists, and leadership staff helped us every step of the way! My family couldn’t be more grateful for the care my grandmother received in her final months of life!

    My mother and stepmother are both at WestRidge Specialty Care. I appreciate the professional staff in all departments providing quality care for them. Nursing staff is timely with changes and concerns regarding physical and emotional health. All departments are quick to address concerns from food allergies to laundry issues. I wouldn’t have my moms any where else!

    Westridge Specialty Care is a great place! My family and I took our animals to the facility during State Fair time, and we had so much fun. The staff were excellent in coordinating the event and the residents were so happy. We cannot wait to share with them again and see their smiling faces.

    My mother moved to West Ridge during the height of Covid after losing my father. The staff was kind, helpful and understanding. They assisted my sister with insurance and long term care filings. Michelle and Brittany are very helpful and care for the residents of the facility. My sister voiced concerns over a few lost items during the isolation moves due to cases of Covid and the staff quickly worked to find the misplaced items and return them. Our mother has recently passed after weeks in hospice care. The staff were all so caring and helpful during the hospice care. Greatly appreciated for helping us be with mom during her journey.

    Created in 1989, Care Initiatives is the largest nonprofit operator of quality skilled nursing locations in Iowa. Today, Care Initiatives operates a total of 43 skilled nursing care locations, two assisted living locations, seven independent living locations, and eight hospice office locations.
