Care Initiatives Hospice - Sioux City staff and volunteers create personalized life history books for patients who request them. Volunteers like those pictured, Leona Olsen and Lorraine Schroeder, use photographs and a personalized life story to design each book to reflect the patient's life.
Hospice helps Packers fan realize a dream
Care Initiatives Hospice - Sioux City Social Worker Lacey Uhl helped make a dream come true for one Green Bay Packer's fan. Upon visiting one of her patients, it became very clear to Lacey that he is a die-hard Packers fan. Wanting to create a great experience for the patient, Lacey contacted the packers NFL agency and asked if they would consider sending a gift box for the patient.
Bedford Specialty Care Passes State Survey with Zero Deficiencies
Bedford Specialty Care is pleased to announce it has, for a second consecutive year, received a “Deficiency Free” result on its annual survey in March 2017 by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. There are 412 nursing facilities in Iowa. Generally, only 5 percent are found to be deficiency-free.
