Care Initiatives Hospice - Sioux City Volunteer Recognized at State Event

September, 2019 - Pam Shever, from Correctionville, Iowa, is one of 53 volunteers who were honored at the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on Friday, September 20, 2019 held in Des Moines. 

“Pam is a wonderful, caring volunteer for our hospice patients and their families,” said Sue Flemming, Care Initiatives Hospice Social Worker. 

Shever is a retired hospice RN, and has volunteered for Care Initiatives since 2014.  She said working with the families and patients is so rewarding for her.  “They are so receptive to any visits you make and appreciate what we do,” she said.    

Care Initiatives Hospice is always accepting compassionate volunteers to help visit with patient and family visits, help with special projects for patients, or to help in the hospice office in Sioux City.
