Care Initiatives Locations Receive COVID-19 Vigilance Award
Award Recognizes Commitment to Prevention
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Aug. 14, 2024) — In recognition of their dedication and commitment to preventing the spread of COVID-19, six Care Initiatives skilled nursing locations across Iowa have been recognized with Telligen’s Blue Ribbon in COVID-19 Vigilance Award. This places each organization on Telligen’s Iowa 2024 Q2 Blue Ribbon in COVID-19 Vigilance Recognition List.
The six locations recognized include:
- Atlantic Specialty Care
- Corning Specialty Care
- Correctionville Specialty
- Care New London Specialty
- Care Southridge Specialty Care
- Westwood Specialty Care
“Nursing homes that receive this award have demonstrated their commitment to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said Tracey Durns, Telligen’s Senior Director Quality Improvement. “We applaud the hard work of these six Care Initiatives locations for ensuring that COVID-19 related policies, processes and ongoing staff education are in place and for taking the critical step to get their staff and residents vaccinated.”
Locations receiving the award have met criteria to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for the safety of their residents and staff. This includes completing a COVID-19 preparedness attestation and achieving a staff up-to-date vaccination rate of at least 15% and a resident up-to-date vaccination rate of at least 70%. As of July 2024, 801 nursing homes across Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Oklahoma have been awarded the Blue Ribbon in COVID-19 Vigilance.
