Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center Employee Receives Honor
ELDORA, IA – Cassie Heetland, certified medical assistant (CMA) at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, has been named as an Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Foundation scholarship recipient. IHCA ICAL Director of Workforce and Home Care Services Julie Adair presented Heetland with the Foundation’s $1,000 John R. Grubb Scholarship for her outstanding commitment to long term services and supports and the residents she serves at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Heetland has worked in long term services and supports for 11 years and is currently attending Ellsworth Community College in pursuit of her associate degree in nursing.
“Knowing that I am providing the best care possible for people that are often in their darkest hours, supporting and comforting the patient’s family and friends and knowing that families trust me with their most precious loved one’s care are all rewarding in their own way,” said Heetland in her scholarship application letter.
“Cassie gives her time to everyone and is so deserving of a little back,” said Susan Eichmeier administrator at Valley View Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. “She is continually serving others everywhere she goes.”
After earning her associate degree in nursing, Heetland plans to continue her work in long term care at her current facility.
