Memo from Joe Reese Regarding Pharmacy Changes

Team,

We are excited to announce that Care Initiatives has partnered with Hartig Drug from Dubuque to form a new pharmacy, TrueMed.  Hartig Drug is a family-owned business that has operated retail pharmacies for over 100-years, and who has also started providing institutional pharmacy services in SNFs and assisted living facilities over the past decade.

Starting February 1, 2023 Care Initiatives will begin transitioning to TrueMed Pharmacy for prescription and consulting services.

TrueMed Pharmacy is a joint venture partnership between Care Initiatives and Hartig Pharmacy Services.  This Iowa-based long-term care pharmacy provider will help drive quality in medication delivery consultative services to our residents.  First, as long-term care pharmacy with investors who understand the needs of skilled nursing providers, TrueMed’s service delivery will be specifically tailored to the needs of our residents. Second, as a local provider they will have an awareness of local events, weather, etc. to anticipate the need to make real time changes to meet our needs.

As investors, the new business line will help bring additional revenue to Care Initiatives. As a non-profit organization this allows us to invest back into the company for wages, benefit enhancements, and capital improvements.  Our goal in all revenue generating ventures is to continue to invest in our employees and teams so we can continue to provide quality care to our residents.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to meeting our mission and providing quality care to our residents.

Sincerely,

Joe Reese
