Care Initiatives Hospice - Greenfield welcomes new volunteer coordinator
September, 2019 – Amanda Phillips has joined Care Initiatives Hospice – Greenfield as Volunteer Coordinator. She is a recent transplant to the area making her home on a farm near Diagonal.
Originally from Kansas, she received her bachelor’s degree in photography from Kansas State University and studied abroad in Morocco. She has lived in Vermont, Colorado and Missouri working in employee recruitment.
Phillips first encountered Hospice when her grandfather fell ill. “That’s when I learned about hospice and saw what an amazing thing it is,” she said adding that she knew she wanted to be a part of a team that helps others through a very important part of their life.
Currently putting the finishing touches on her new home, Phillips has plans to expand her flock of Ancona ducks, starting her garden and continuing to create stained glass art. She also hopes to join the local Lions Club.
Care Initiatives Hospice is always accepting compassionate volunteers to help visit with patient and family visits, help with special projects for patients, or to help in the hospice office in Greenfield.
