Care Initiatives Hospice welcomes new Team Director in Cedar Rapids
(December, 2019) Kali Stone, RN, CHPN has been promoted to Team Director of the Care Initiative Hospice – Cedar Rapids office. In her role as Team Director, Stone will oversee an expert team of registered nurses, hospice aides, spiritual care and bereavement counselors, social workers and devoted local volunteers. The Cedar Rapids office serves patients and families in Linn, Johnson, Benton, Iowa, Jones, Jackson, Cedar and Muscatine counties.
A native of Duluth, Minn., Stone moved south to receive her RN from Ellsworth Community College and her BSN from Upper Iowa University. Through her work as a nurse in long term care, she became familiar with hospice work and decided to pursue hospice care as a career.
Working as an RN Case Manager for Care Initiatives Hospice – Waterloo, she’s developed the necessary leadership skills to guide the hospice care provided by Cedar Rapids team. “We just moved to the area and I’m looking forward to getting to know the community,” Stone said. “I’m also excited to work with a great team of hospice care providers.”
Outside of work, Stone is active with her 2-year-old and 3-month-old. She and her family enjoy following the St. Louis Cardinals and University of Iowa athletics and the occasional trip back to Duluth.
