Care Initiatives Hospice welcomes new Team Director
(April 8, 2019) Chyann Vroegh, RN, BSN, has joined Care Initiatives Hospice as the Team Director for the Albia location. In her role as Team Director, Vroegh will oversee a team of a registered nurses, hospice aides, spiritual care and bereavement counselors, social workers and devoted local volunteers. The Albia Office serves patients and families in Marion, Mahaska, Keokuk, Lucas, Monroe, Wapello, Jefferson, Wayne, Appanoose, Davis and Van Buren Counties.
As a native of Eddyville and long-time resident of Oskaloosa, Vroegh has devoted her nursing career to serving patients in the rural healthcare setting. Vroegh has over 14 years of nursing experience, ranging from clinical quality monitoring and improvement to obstetrics. She received her associate’s degree from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
“I enjoy coaching, supporting and educating patients and their families during life’s most vulnerable times; whether that is at the beginning of life during the birthing process or during the final stages of life when Hospice services can be utilized.” Vroegh said. “Most importantly, I am committed to ensuring quality rural healthcare no matter what stage of life a person is in,” she added.
Outside of work, Vroegh enjoys outdoor family time with her husband Grant and three step children, spending time boating at Lake Rathbun and camping at the Iowa State Fair.
