Kristina Harris chosen for Care Initiatives Always Learn Award
MDS Coordinator Kristina Harris with Creston Specialty Care was awarded the Care Initiatives “Always Learn Award” at Care Initiatives annual awards brunch Friday, Dec. 7 in West Des Moines.
Harris worked at Creston Specialty Care for a few years and returned in early 2016 to work as a charge nurse and nurse manager. When she saw the facility was in need of an MDS Coordinator, she signed on for the training. She completed the coursework in 6 months while also prioritizing our quality measures to make sure records were coded correctly.
Additionally, Harris has begun classes to obtain her 4-year RN degree.
“Kristina is a strong employee and her dedication to keep learning is obvious in the steps she’s taken,” said Administrator Lori Harvey.
The “Always Learn” award is one of six Core Value Awards given to a nominated employee throughout the statewide Care Initiatives organization of 3,000+ employees.
