Missy Julius Earns Care Initiatives Be Kind & Honest Award
Missy Julius, Environmental Supervisor with Sibley Specialty Care received the 2019 Be Kind and Honest Award at Care Initiatives annual awards brunch Friday, Dec. 6 in West Des Moines.
Julius joined Sibley Specialty Care in 2009 and oversees maintenance, housekeeping and laundry. She is an active member of the team and is available 24 hours a day.

Dubuque receives gift in memory of resident
A resident's family sent us a basket of prizes to give out at Bingo! What a great way to honor her memory! Thank you so much! The note read: Angela loved all kinds of activities. We thought what a better way to honor her name than to donate this basket in her memory. She loved bingo, so we included some prizes. Angela loved to bead and play Uno. Her favorite music was John Denver so we included that also.

La Porte City Specialty Care receives highest rating
(October, 2019) Staff at La Porte City Specialty Care are celebrating a perfect survey administered by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. They received zero deficiencies. There are 439 nursing facilities in Iowa. Generally, only 5 percent are found to be deficiency-free.
Skilled nursing facilities are inspected annually to evaluate services and renew state licensure. Unannounced, state surveyors arrive to interview, observe, and check records for several days.
